The purpose of this post is to explain to you all why we LOVE our Diono car seat! But first, a story! 😉

When I was pregnant with Noah, we decided that we were not going to find out baby’s gender! It was hard, but it was so worth it! When Noah was born and the Doctor said “It’s a boy!” (quickly followed by “he’s peeing all over the place”) I remember feeling like I was on top of the world! I have a baby, and he’s a boy! As a person who generally cannot be easily surprised, that moment will go down as the most surprising moment of my life!

As hard as it was to go 40.5 weeks not knowing the gender of our baby, it came with some pretty awesome perks!

1. Because we didn’t know the gender of our baby, the majority of the gifts we received for our shower were actual items we registered for and not just cute baby clothes! Don’t get me wrong, cute baby clothes are awesome, but the stroller, pack and play, diaper genie, and bouncer are so much more valuable for first time parents!
2. The clothes we did receive, and the colors of the baby products, were all gender neutral! This was awesome because we knew that if we wanted to have another baby in the future, it wouldn’t matter if we were having a boy or a girl!

We saved EVERYTHING of Noah’s. I’m talking about every sock, every burp cloth, every onesie – well except for those code brown, slip the onesie off the shoulders and down because, well you know where I’m going with this! 😉 The funny thing is that the only way the clothes would benefit our second child was if a) he was a boy and b) he was born during the same season so the clothes sizes would match up! (You can’t put newborn winter clothes on a newborn summer baby)

Flash Forward to January 30th, 2017, we found out we were pregnant with baby No.2! The silver lining of not getting the summer due date I was hoping for: the due date was October 10, 2017, perfectly aligning with my first November baby! The only thing we needed to know was whether baby No.2 was a boy or girl. And not to spoil the ending here, but as you know, we have 2 beautiful boys! (Read about our gender reveal here.)

Thankfully, we’ve been able to use all of Noah’s hand me downs – clothes, towels, toys, stroller, and infant car seat! Now that Ryan is older, we’ve hit a stumbling block. WE NEED A NEW CAR SEAT!

It wasn’t a concern for us for the past year because Ryan has been riding in Noah’s old infant car seat. Now it’s time to upgrade him, but at 5 years old, Noah hasn’t outgrown his convertible car seat!
