A Disney’s Saratoga Springs Review
And we’re back! We just got back from our trip to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa! This resort will always have a special place in my heart because it’s the first Disney resort we stayed at as a family! Saratoga Springs has so much to offer and if I shared everything it is we love about it, this post would be way too long! So here are the top reasons we love Saratoga Springs and why it’s a great pick for your next family vacation!
Why we Love Saratoga Springs
What’s not to love about this Deluxe Resort? Saratoga Springs is one of the 14+ resorts that make up Disney’s Vacation Club (DVC). However, you don’t have to be a DVC member to stay on property. We happen to be DVC members and it was one of the best decisions we ever made! But that’s for another post! 😉 This post, is a Disney’s Saratoga Springs Review!
Location, Location, Location
You can’t beat Saratoga Spring’s location! It’s a hop, skip and a jump away from Disney Springs! With a walkway and water taxi to Disney Springs, you’re just minutes away from all the restaurant and shopping options you could think of!
This is super convenient for many reasons:
- We opted not to bring car seats with us this time around. We knew we were going to be staying within the Walt Disney Wold resort but for our one day outing to Universal Studios. [You don’t need a car seat for the Disney busses, and we used Uber for a ride to Universal and they provide car seats!] Having to lug the car seat through the airport just wasn’t worth it for that one time we would need it! That being said, it would have been pretty lame if we couldn’t leave the hotel. So, being within walking distance of Disney Springs was amazing for a change of pace!
- It was also convenient because Lou and I were able to get away for a date night! My parents stayed with the kids back at the hotel while Lou and I ventured to Disney Springs for a night out. It felt like we were a world away but we were really just a 5 minute boat ride away! Super convenient!!
- If you’re not going to the parks, or you need a break from the parks, Disney Springs is the perfect place to unwind. In addition to awesome restaurants and shopping, they have live entertainment, a movie theater, a bowling alley, pin trading, and more!!

Fun in the Sun
The pool options are incredible and plenty! With 5 pools to choose from, you can just about do a different pool for each day of your stay!
We enjoyed 2 of the 5 pools during this trip – The Paddock Pool and High Rock Spring Pool. Both of these pool areas have zero-depth entries, hot tubs, and slides for both big kids (adults included) and little ones!
The Paddock Pool has a 146-ft long slide and an entire children’s area with a shallow pool and kid slides. It’s an amazing area for those with younger kids and it’s gated so there’s that added layer of safety.
In addition to a 128-ft long slide, High Rock Spring Pool has a mini slide that ends right in the big pool. Ryan loved this slide and could have spent all day on it! Except of course for when he was playing at the Donald Duck splash pad!

Beautiful Grounds & Lots to Do!
Another great feature of Saratoga Springs is the beautiful grounds! There’s a running path, multiple water features, a bridge to cross from one side to the other, a golf course and more! Honestly, it’s hard to capture the beauty in pictures.
The Community Hall at Saratoga Springs is an amazing place to escape the rain, the heat, and to do some Disney Arts and Crafts! They have everything from coloring to ceramic painting! There’s bean bag seating and a TV where Disney movies play all day. They also have a collection of DVDs and board games that you can rent and take back to your room for a relaxful night in! This trip, one of the movies we rented was Mary Poppins Returns for our family night in!
Because we were there during Mother’s day weekend, they had Mother’s Day cards available for kids to color! Such a cute idea. You can also rent bikes, play pool, ping pong, cornhole and more. They play movies at night by the pool, have evening bonfires with all the marshmallows you could eat, and morning yoga to name a few of the other activities!

The Room
The One Bedroom Villa at Saratoga Springs is really spacious and comfortable for our family of 4. The bathroom area is split up nicely so that someone can be in the shower while another is getting ready. In addition to the shower, there’s a huge whirlpool tub that both boys thoroughly enjoyed!
Each room has a pack and play in the closet, which we were able to use for Ryan! And there is ample room to set it up. The sofa bed was actually super comfy as it’s not a spring mattress but more of a super thick foam mattress.
We’re always looking for ways to keep costs down while on vacation. Although we love to make the most of it and have a good time, we do feel like there are a few ways to cut back. One of those ways was taking advantage of the full kitchen in our room. We ordered groceries for the week from Amazon Now and had breakfast in most mornings, sandwiches for lunch a few days of the week, and one home cooked meal! It sounds like a hassle to cook while on vacation, but it actually ends up being convenient on a day when you’ve had too much fun in the sun and don’t have the energy to get everyone ready and out the door in time for dinner. Or when you don’t get up and at em’ in time to make it to breakfast!
*Ordering the groceries from Amazon was so simple. They get delivered to bell services and you can then pick them up yourself down in the lobby, or the hotel will deliver them to your room for a $6 fee.
One of my favorite ammenities of the room is the washer and dryer! We used the dryer to dry off our towels and bathing suits. Having a washer comes in handy when you have little ones who are constantly spilling things on themselves (and you!). It’s also great because we were able to wash our clothes before coming home, which meant I was able to unpack and put the clothes right away!

If you can’t tell, we really do love it at Satatoga Springs. It truly has that home away from home feeling and we can’t wait to go back!
