Hey Mama, I see you trying to organize your business all while prepping kid meals, dancing to baby shark (for the umpteenth time), folding the laundry (for the umpteenth time) and dodging those tiny LEGOS that always seem to be on the floor and never in their bin! Who has time to sit at a computer and get work done? As much as I love putting pen to paper, sometimes its impossible to do. And don’t even think about busting out the laptop in front of your kid! There’s nothing more enticing to a child than a laptop when Mama has to get work done! Am I right?
In a world where iPhones are literally in the palm of our hands, why not take advantage of all your phone has to offer! In addition to having apps for just about everything – social media, banking, messaging – the iPhone itself has amazing features you can use to stay organized in your business! Are you using them?

Organize your Notes into Folders

My ‘Notes’ app is filled with important memos, information, templates, and ideas. I am constantly writing down my thoughts in my iPhone. It’s an easy way to get my thoughts down no matter where I am. If an idea pops into my head, I grab for my phone and document it. This was working beautifully for me until I realized I was scrolling and scrolling and scrolling when ever I had to look for something.
Enter the Folder feature of the Notes app! It’s been a game changer for this Mama. I honestly don’t know how I didn’t do this sooner! I have 15+ folders for every category you can think of – a master list of hashtags, course creation content, potential blog post topics, captions for social media posts, important deadlines and even a folder for personal notes. I save so much time now that I know exactly where to look for something!
Organize your Photos into Albums
Similar to the ‘Notes’ app, I’ve just started using the ‘Album’ feature in my ‘Photo’ app. I take a ton of photos for my business and use them as social media posts, Pinterest graphics, blog posts, etc. I also have my logo saved to my phone and a bunch of stock photos. Scrolling through the “Recents” album of my photos was time consuming. And for a Mama in Business, time is something I don’t have a lot of.
Now, I have an album labeled ‘MOBW’ where I keep all of my marketing materials. It’s so much easier to create graphics and keep an inventory of my business photos. You could even go one step further and create multiple albums for the different branches of your business – Instagram photos, stock photos, marketing materials & logos, etc.
Organize your Freebies into Files
If you’re not taking advantage of the amazing freebies that other businesses offer, then you’re closing the door to a wealth of opportunity, information and education! I am constantly searching the web for free information. It’s how I learned so much early on in my business. If you look in the right places, you’ll find business owners who are looking to provide you with their best and most valuable content for free! The only problem I was having was that I was keeping tons of tabs open on my phone for every freebie document that I downloaded.
A quick trick to lessen the load on your browser – save the PDFs and downloads to your Files app. You can create one Folder for them all or categorize by group – branding materials, marketing materials, social media tips, etc. Save on printing, read them from anywhere, and have them at your fingertips!
Time is precious when you are a Mama in Business. My goal is to simplify the work for you. It definitely takes hard work and determination to grow your business, but the trick is to work smarter, not harder! Take the time to organize your business from your phone and you’ll thank yourself for it later!
