Welcome

Who Am I?

Someone who is excited to share this journey of motherhood with other mamas who are looking for the same thing – someone who gets it; the struggles, the rewards, the sacrifices, and everything in between.

-Personally?

I am married to my college sweetheart (that’s a thing right?). We met our sophomore year of college and have basically been inseparable since then. Except of course for that short stint he did when he studied abroad in Italy for four months without me (I refuse to let him live that down). When we graduated undergrad we had the bright idea of continuing on down the path of debt, I mean education, and we started and completed law school together. We graduated law school, took the bar exam, and got married all within a three month span. Yes, we know we are crazy!

I am blessed to be the mother of two beautiful boys, Noah and Ryan. Noah Alexander is a bright little boy who is four going on fourteen! He is so smart that at times it literally makes me stop in my tracks. He’s also a self made comedian and I can’t tell you how many times we’ve gone through his spiel of “Why did the chicken cross the road?” He has brought so much joy to our lives. It has been an amazing journey not only getting to know him, but getting to know myself as well.

Our second baby boy, Ryan James, made me an official “boy mom” on September 30th, 2017. He is such a happy baby and is always smiling! He is growing like a weed and honestly, I think it’s going by a lot faster this time than last. I swear if I blink I might just miss it. Our family now feels complete and I couldn’t imagine life without my two little boys. And for all of you out there wondering, we have no plans on trying for the girl 😉

Becoming a mom changes you and challenges you and opens you up to emotions and feelings you never even knew existed within you.

-Professionally?

As I stated above, I graduated from law school and (by his grace) passed the bar exam! Just after I found out I was pregnant with Noah I landed a pretty sweet gig. The sweetest part about it, it was a state job that included state health insurance! Jackpot! As if the health insurance weren’t enough, the hours were pretty awesome – 8:45- 4:45! How could I ever complain? Except that I did, and when Noah was a little over one I decided that we needed a change. Afer many conversations with hubby (some of which nearly gave him a heart attack) we decided that my next move would be going out on my own and starting my own law practice! And here we are almost three years later and not only am I still going strong, but my husband has since left his job and joined me in practice! It hasn’t been all easy, but the benefits far outweigh the “inconveniences” that have come our way.

As my own boss, I have the ability to really be a part of both worlds – the working world and the stay-at-home mom world. On any given day I can be serving up justice in the courtroom followed by toting Noah around to playdates in the afternoon. And that my friends, makes me happy! It’s not always easy and it definitely requires a lot of planning, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I truly have the Best of both worlds!

So, now that you have a basic overview of who I am, I hope you follow along and join me on this journey we call motherhood.
